Cocoa Beach, Fla., Sept. 5, 2023 – USTA Florida this week welcomed a new certified tennis coach – Ron Gould – to the team serving up programs and play at Racquet Club of Cocoa Beach. The new tennis professional will enable the Racquet Club to offer additional programs this fall, meeting increased demand at the facility.

“It’s important to us that our instructors have the knowledge, skills and ability to serve everyone in our community.  Ron has demonstrated his commitment to delivering coaching in a safe and welcoming environment. He has strong connections in the area, and we are proud to add them to our team,” said John Sanders, Head Tennis Professional at Racquet Club of Cocos Beach.

Ron Gould, a native of Cocoa Beach, joins the team as a full-time tennis professional, certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association.

Mr. Gould was born in Cocoa Beach and raised in Merritt Island, FL. He held a top 50 ranking in Florida for most of his junior career.  He played college tennis for both Carson Newman College and Rollins College.  He started his coaching career at IMG Evert Academy, where he worked with numerous players that subsequently played on the tour.

Mr. Gould has previously worked as the Head Tennis Pro at Kiwanis Island Tennis Center teaching tennis to all levels.  He worked at The Racquet Club of Cocoa Beach previously, where he built a successful junior team tennis program and assisted with USTA Florida high-performance camps.  He also coached Merritt Island Christian for 13 years.

“When we had the opportunity to move back home, we took it.  I am excited to be joining the team at RCCB and I am looking forward to seeing you on the courts!” said Mr. Gould.
